ENCOUNTER isn’t just the name of our community of Christians. It is the essential element of our lives — coming into a personal, dynamic relational encounter with God. So, what does it mean to encounter God?
God has created us for Himself and He extends an offer of His love and grace to all humanity.
Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20
God so loved the world... John 3:16
God wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the Truth... 1 Timothy 2:4
“Sin” is a word that describes our attitude of selfishness, arrogance, and ultimately our rebellion against God — who is the very source of life, love, joy, and peace. The result of our rejection of God and His directives is obvious. We have created Hell on earth, in many ways, because we have cut ourselves off from the very source of all that is good. That separation from God is eternal and without His intervention, we wouldn’t stand a chance. Yet, that’s where God Himself becomes everything to us.
God's Word says...
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...The result of sin is eternal death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord! Romans 3:23 & 6:23
God loves us deeply and sent us a Savior, His Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us from the eternal impact of our rebellion against Him. Again, the Bible is super clear...
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son (Jesus Christ) into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. John 3:16–17
Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day. 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
Embracing that Savior is a turning point in our lives. It is a point of decision — a decision to center our lives around God and His directions rather than a self-serving orientation.
If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus Is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved! Romans 10:9
This means that even though this old shell of a body will die someday, you will live with God in heaven forever. His #1 desire is to give you eternal life, free from all the pain that our separation from God has caused us. It sort of puts all this crazy earthly stuff we go through in perspective. We have hope!
If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give eternal life to you! Romans 8:11
Listen to this...
God has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given... through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus who has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2 Timothy 1:9–10
We care about you and are praying that you'll find new life in Jesus Christ.
